Bad Credit Auto Loans
Obtaining bad credit auto loans is not as difficult as you might think it would be. There are several ways to fix your credit score, check your report, and receive financing even if you are a sub prime borrower. So, don’t worry, here are a few tips on bad credit auto loans.
Before you go looking for bad credit auto loans to finance your new car, let’s talk about sub prime borrowers. This just means you have less than perfect credit. Your credit report is something you should know up and down. Check the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This states you have the right to check your credit report after being denied credit, or once a year everyone is entitled to a copy of their report. The three credit reporting companies are, Equifax, Experian, or Trans Union. Any discrepancies can be handled through one of these three companies.
Now that you have your credit report under control, its time to talk about obtaining bad credit auto loans. First, let’s see why it is so hard to get the credit you desire. There are several reasons for being turned down for an auto loan: 1) Too many inquiries on your credit. You might be applying too often for loans, every time you run a credit check it does count against your overall score. 2) You may have incorrectly filled out your credit application. When you fill out credit applications, make sure you fill in all of the blanks. These applications are very case sensitive, and one small error can throw something off (missing middle initial, one incorrect digit on your social security number, even a misspelled name). 3) Having an insufficient credit file. Unfortunately, having no credit is almost as bad as having delinquent accounts. There are creditors that will work with you if you don’t have credit. 4) Your credit report contains delinquent obligations. These are the worst marks on your credit report. It shows that when you are given credit you don’t pay the scheduled payments. If the charges are inaccurate, you can contact one of the three companies listed and dispute the charges. If the charges are relevant then you may have to settle some of your accounts before securing a loan. 5) There is an error on file. This reason ties into the last. You must check your report at least once a year to make sure all of your information is correct. If not, contact the credit reporting company.
You hear it on your television all the time, “bad credit, no credit, no problem”. Most of us do have problems though. Checking online or with your bank should be your first plan of action. Credible online lenders are easy to come by, just remember the more you run your credit the more your score goes down. Find the right interest rates and terms that you can handle. Find online companies that will pre approve your loan. Then when you contact the dealership you have cash in hand. They want to move their cars off of that lot. They will bend over backwards to get you that vehicle.
There is hope for those of us with less than perfect credit who would like a new car. In the end, securing bad credit auto loans is not impossible and just doing your homework can make all the difference.
